Dr Krishna Sundaram qualified in Medicine from the United Medical and DentalSchools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ in 1992. He trained in the South West London Region in Gastroenterology and General Medicine and was appointed to the post of Consultant Gastroenterologist at West Middlesex University Hospital in 2004. During his training period he pursued a research interest into upper GI disorders and the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection in the community. He was awarded a Diploma in Nutritional Medicine from Surrey University in 2008 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians the same year.
As a consultant he has maintained an interest in upper GI disorders and nutrition, but looks after patients with all types of gastroenterological conditions including Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and GI cancer. He is a core member of both the Upper and Lower GI cancer multidisciplinary teams.
He is the Clinical Lead for Endoscopy, and has coordinated efforts which resulted in the West Middlesex University Hospital Endoscopy Unit obtaining and maintaining JAG accreditation.
